Congress heard more testimony about UFOs: Here are the biggest revelations
2024-11-13, USA Today
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/11/13/ufo-hearing-takeaways-u...

Congressional leaders continue to pay serious heed to the possibility that not only are unexplained objects violating U.S. airspace, but that the military has spent decades covertly recovering the craft to bolster its own technology. On Wednesday, a new slate of witnesses provided fresh testimony on precisely these concerns during a joint hearing by subcommittees of the House Oversight Committee. The hearing, which surpassed two hours, represented Congress' latest foray into the topic of UFOs following another round of testimony in July 2023. The hearing's title? "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth." The UAP acronym is the official term the government now uses to refer to the unexplained phenomena, arguing it is less loaded and stigmatized than "UFO," but it also accounts for the fact that, as witnesses reinforced on Wednesday, many sightings are of objects in the water. One of the more compelling revelations was a report shared by journalist Michael Shellenberger about a shadowy UAP program created in 2017. Shellenberger, who publishes the "Public" newsletter on Substack, claimed sources have told him that intelligence communities "are sitting on a huge amount of visual and other information" about UAP. "And they have for a very long time and it's not those fuzzy photos and videos we've been given, it's very clear, high resolution," he added. Asked how many images or videos, Shellenberger said "hundreds, maybe thousands."

Did the government confirm aliens exist?
2024-11-13, News Nation
https://www.newsnationnow.com/space/ufo/did-government-confirm-aliens-exist/

The House held a second hearing following a widely-watched congressional hearing on UAPs and UFOs last year that prompted people to flock to social media, many proclaiming the government confirmed aliens exist. While witnesses and lawmakers discussed the issue of UFOs, the government has not issued any official confirmation of alien life. Whistleblower David Grusch largely recounted second-hand testimony and provided no evidence to support his claims. Grusch is a former member of the UAP Task Force. Former Navy Commander and pilot David Fravor recounted a first-hand experience with the so-called ‘Tic Tac' UFO but said he was never briefed on the object or its potential origins. Former Navy pilot Ryan Graves, who founded the Americans for Safe Aerospace, also recounted an encounter he had with an object he described as a black sphere floating inside a clear cube. Graves indicated such encounters were extremely common among pilots. Only Rep. Matt Gaetz, R.-Fla., said he had seen any evidence of alien life firsthand. Grusch was unable to answer a number of inquiries regarding specific evidence or proof in an open setting, though he indicated he would be willing to say more in a secure, classified briefing. At the heart of Grusch's whistleblower complaint is his claim that the government, specifically the Department of Defense, is operating programs to retrieve material from crashes that are extraterrestrial in nature and are keeping those programs secret.

Pentagon's secret UFO data retrieval program 'Immaculate Constellation' revealed for first time in new whistleblower report
2024-10-09, Daily Mail (One of the UK's Popular Newspapers)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-13942241/Pentagon-secret-UFO-...

A secretive Pentagon UFO data retrieval program has been hidden from Congressional oversight since 2017, a new report claims. Whistleblowers assert the program – codenamed 'Immaculate Constellation' – was established to 'detect' and 'quarantine' the military's best UFO imagery, as well as its best videos, eyewitness testimonies and electronic sensor evidence. This trove of high quality, multi-sensor UFO data is so tightly held that 'talking about it will put you in the danger zone,' according to a US official who confirmed the leak. The quite literally 'above top secret' program allegedly sprang into action in the wake of the 2017 leak of three, still-as-yet unexplained US Navy infrared UFO videos. The source of the leaked report, who supplied the document to the independent news site Public, described the program as an 'Unacknowledged Special Access Program' or USAP with unique secrecy privileges. 'The multitude of wavelengths collected by these sensors ... have captured UAP characteristics that are difficult or impossible to observe with the human eye alone,' according to the leaked report, allegedly intended for cleared members of Congress. 'Subtle atmospheric effects associated with UAPs are also visible through the sensors,' the leaked report added. 'Some of the phenomena we may be seeing,' ex-CIA head John Brennan [said], 'results from something that we don't yet understand and ... some might say constitutes a different form of life.'

‘I was the Pentagon's UFO chief – I've held alien matter in my hands'
2024-09-07, i News
https://inews.co.uk/news/science/pentagons-ufo-chief-alien-matter-hands-3258387

Luis Elizondo [was the] director of the [Pentagon's] Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Programme (AATIP). He claims to have been told categorically by senior fellow researchers that the notorious Roswell incident in New Mexico in 1947 really did involve a UAP crash, perhaps involving two flying saucers – and that "four deceased non-human bodies" were recovered from the wreckage and examined. Asked what happened to these supposed bodies, he says on our video call: "We know where they were. We don't know where they are." He adds: "I've got to be careful what I say here, to not get in trouble – I still have my security clearance." Other bodies have also been retrieved from subsequent incidents. He accuses major aerospace companies of trying to obtain crashed UAPs, to "reverse-engineer" the advanced machinery and replicate it. He warns that UAPs appear to be attracted to nuclear technology, sometimes interfering with weapons. He claims to have once even discussed setting a "trap" to catch a UAP by using US nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines as bait. And he believes that UAPs have already cost lives. Ten people are said to have died in the "Colares incidents" after being harmed by lasers on a Brazilian island in the 1970s. Many of Elizondo's assertions rely on unnamed people, who he describes as "credible sources." But he also believes he's seen pieces of a UAP himself – and that he's even handled "alleged alien implants found in humans".

Police across US given new UFO handbook as they warn craft 'pose significant safety risks'
2024-09-07, Daily Mail (One of the UK's Popular Newspapers)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-13742439/Police-given-new-UFO...

Police chiefs of America's largest cities have published the first guide about UAPs, which details chilling encounters and how officers can report such incidents. The 11-page document warned that unidentified flying objects 'pose significant safety risks to law enforcement air support units,' urging teams to be vigilant when in helicopters. The report also highlights stories from officers who claimed to confront UFOs. The organization, called the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA), includes nearly 80 executives from major US cities who work together to advance public safety through a range of initiatives, including community outreach, research and policy development and now, UFO investigations. The report ... includes links to various UAP reporting websites, urging officers to report any bizarre sightings. More interesting, the pages detail first-person stories from police officers who encountered unknown spacecraft while out in the field. An officer patrolling Blairsville, Georgia in November 2023 claimed to have witnessed green lights in the sky. 'I am a police officer and deputy sheriff. While on duty after dark, near the top of my windshield (frame of view) I witnessed movement in the sky (southbound direction of view),' the officer's report stated. 'Upon concentrating my focus, viewing through the low light, I was able to make out a triangle craft, with 3 dim green lights per side (just bright enough to assess size, shape, and movement).'

Ex-Pentagon official Luis Elizondo alleges US recovered nonhuman specimens: report
2024-08-23, New York Post
https://nypost.com/2024/08/23/us-news/ex-pentagon-official-luis-elizondo-alle...

"The United States has been involved in the recovery of objects, vehicles of unknown origin that are neither from our country or any other foreign country," former senior US government intelligence Luis Elizondo told NewsNation. Elizondo claimed that one of the two spacecraft the Department of Defense has is from the alleged 1947 unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) crash in Roswell, New Mexico. "We as a nation have been interested in not only the vehicles themselves but the occupants of these vehicles; to include biological specimens. "We are not alone in this universe. The US government has been aware of that fact for decades." Elizondo claims: "I saw a technical device that had been removed, excised by the Department of Veterans Affairs by a surgeon, a trained physician, from a US military service member who claimed to have a UAP encounter," he told the outlet. "The physician claimed that the object tried to run on him or evade being excised." Elizondo ... graduated from the University of Miami with majors in microbiology and immunology, with studies in parasitology. After a stint in the army, he claims to have "served as a special agent in counterintelligence" for the US and was tasked with helping protect "advanced aerospace technology" from falling into the wrong hands. In 2008, however, Elizondo claims he took "a new position at the Pentagon," where he was later "approached by two individuals who were part of a program I hadn't heard of before," who knew his "background" and were considering him to join their "organization." "After meeting the director and several other individuals, I agreed to take on a role in their program, which was called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a niche program under the umbrella of AWSAPP," he wrote. He would eventually make his way up the chain in the AATIP, where a "typical day" would be investigating UAP reports, "primarily from the Navy," specifically in incidents where they "came dangerously close to our aircraft."

The possibility of life on other planets is more likely than we know
2024-08-17, New York Post
https://nypost.com/2024/08/17/opinion/life-on-other-planets-is-more-likely-th...

As the chief scientist of the SETI Institute in Mountain View, Calif. – the world's leading center for the search for extraterrestrial intelligence – I am convinced that finding life beyond Earth is not a matter of if but a matter of when. As recently as May of this year, scientists discovered a new potentially habitable planet, Gliese 12 b, just 40 light years away. This Earth-sized exoplanet, identified using NASA's TESS satellite system, orbits a cool red dwarf star and shares intriguing similarities with Venus. Nearly 200 hundred types of prebiotic organic molecules have been detected over decades of astronomical observation in interstellar clouds near the center of our galaxy. They include the kinds of molecules that could play a role in forming amino acids – those building blocks of life. The sheer number of potential alien worlds adds to the probability that life could be abundant in the universe. Tens of billions of Earth-sized planets could be located in the habitable zone of sun-like stars in our galaxy alone. Because the probability distribution in nature predicts more puddles than large lakes ... the universe is likely teeming with planets harboring that simple life. Even if only one in a billion of those planets has developed life that's made it to higher levels of complexity and intelligence, nearly a dozen advanced civilizations could populate our entire galaxy. Even if it were only one per 100 galaxies, there could still be billions of them throughout the cosmos.

A Memoir Offers an Insider's Perspective Into the Pentagon's U.F.O. Hunt
2024-08-16, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/16/books/booksupdate/imminent-luiz-elizondo.html

Luis Elizondo made headlines in 2017 when he resigned as a senior intelligence official running a shadowy Pentagon program investigating U.F.O.s and publicly denounced the excessive secrecy, lack of resources and internal opposition that he said were thwarting the effort. Now Elizondo, 52, has gone further in a new memoir. In the book he asserted that a decades-long U.F.O. crash retrieval program has been operating as a supersecret umbrella group made up of government officials working with defense and aerospace contractors. Over the years, he wrote, technology and biological remains of nonhuman origin have been retrieved from these crashes. "Humanity is, in fact, not the only intelligent life in the universe, and not the alpha species," Elizondo wrote. The book, "Imminent: Inside the Pentagon's Hunt for U.F.O.s," is being published ... after a yearlong security review by the Pentagon. In a foreword to the book, Christopher Mellon, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence, wrote that, without Elizondo, "the U.S. government would still be denying the existence of U.A.P. and failing to investigate a phenomenon that may well be the greatest discovery in human history." The program led by Elizondo investigated sightings, near-misses and other encounters between U.A.P. and Navy jets. It also collected data from incidents involving military and intelligence operations, including images of extraordinary craft maneuvers.

Week of wonder: 'Are we alone?'
2024-07-25, WBUR
https://www.wbur.org/onpoint/2024/07/25/week-of-wonder-ufo-alien-aerospace-go...

Ryan Graves was in the Navy for more than 10 years. He's since left the service. This summer, he testified before the House Subcommittee on National Security, the Border and Foreign Affairs. And he told the representatives that as a pilot and a formally trained engineer, he'd witnessed many phenomena that he could not explain. "During a training mission in Warning Area Whiskey 72, 10 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach, two F-18 Super Hornets were split by a UAP," [said Graves]. "The object, described as a dark gray or black cube inside of a clear sphere, came within 50 feet of the lead aircraft and was estimated to be 5 to 15 feet in diameter. The mission commander terminated the flight immediately and returned to base. Our squadron submitted a safety report, but there was no official acknowledgement of the incident and no further mechanism to report the sightings. Soon, these encounters became so frequent that aircrew would discuss the risk of UAP as part of their regular preflight briefs." Graves now runs an organization called Americans for Safe Aerospace. It's a non-profit dedicated to understanding unidentified anomalous phenomena as a national security threat. He says he still doesn't know what he saw in the skies. Part of the reason for that is that any unidentified aerial phenomenon, as the government now calls them, is automatically highly classified. But he says, whatever they are, they must be taken seriously.

Shortly after the Big Bang, conditions were perfect for life. Did aliens emerge long before us?
2024-06-15, Salon
https://www.salon.com/2024/06/15/shortly-after-the-big-bang-conditions-were-p...

The question of how life first came into existence has exercised scientists and philosophers for millenia. Avi Loeb, director of the Institute for Theory and Computation at the Center for Astrophysics co-operated by Harvard University and the Smithsonian, [said] that with some creative thinking, it might be possible to find evidence that life started far, far earlier than the earliest evidence we have for it on Earth. "I would say one hundred million years after the Big Bang, there were pockets of enriched material that could have led to planets and life as we know it, potentially," Loeb said. Loeb cited the Dragonfly mission, currently scheduled by NASA to launch in 2028 to explore Saturn's largest moon, Titan (as well as Enceladus, which is Saturn's sixth-largest moon, another candidate for life in our solar system is Jupiter's moon, Europa). Loeb describes the Dragonfly mission as a fishing expedition. Literally: looking for alien fish. "You go there and you look for fish, and if there is something moving and alive, that would be amazing," Loeb said. "Because not only would we realize that life exists elsewhere, but also that it could take very different forms. Of course, I would not recommend putting these fish in restaurants on Earth and eating them, because it might not be good for our stomachs. But you can imagine – I mean, we just don't understand how life emerged on Earth with its complexity and definitely not in other liquids."

Pentagon official reveals tantalizing seven-minute encounter with glowing blue UFO - which emitted enough energy to 'power a small city'
2024-06-12, Daily Mail (One of the UK's Popular Newspapers)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-13514283/pentagon-official-bl...

A US Department of Defense contractor's tantalizing encounter with a giant, glowing UFO has sparked 10 years of research and two patents inspired by his encounter. Three witnesses, including that Pentagon engineer, report that they captured electronic evidence of a 'barbell' UFO, half the length of a football field, that glowed an eerie 'indigo' blue. The craft, they said, flew silently over an old logging road in southwestern Ontario, Canada, on August 28, 2013, near where the trio had camped for a hunting trip. The case's first investigators ... shared electronic data from the contractor's attempt to film the object – showing 'white noise' pulses in the video that recur in one-second loops identical to strobing light from the UFO itself. 'The captured data of the event,' the witness reported, 'may be the first real physical proof of not just a craft flying, but that it flies by virtue of an incredibly complex and ... powerful spinning electromagnetic propulsion system.' UFO investigator Robert ... Powell told DailyMail.com that UFO cases with this shape are so rare that only about '50 to 60 cases' exist 'throughout history.' [One] witness described 'an indigo plasma that covered most of the craft,' which was bone-shaped or barbell-shaped and extended about 170-feet long, 60-feet wide and 20-feet tall, as it flew slowly just over the tree-line. 'The craft rotated slowly around its center while emitting an electrical-spark-like shower, always opposite of the direction of travel,' [said the witness].

Aliens might be living among us disguised as humans – or in a base inside the moon, according to new Harvard study
2024-06-12, New York Post
https://nypost.com/2024/06/12/us-news/aliens-might-be-living-among-us-accordi...

Aliens might be living among us, according to a study by Harvard academics. The study by Harvard University's Human Flourishing program further puts forward the idea that UFOs, or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), may be spaceships visiting their Earth-based alien friends. The researchers have investigated so-called ‘cryptoterrestrials'. These could be disguising themselves as humans to fit in, may have come from Earth's future or might have descended from intelligent dinosaurs. The study was created to offer an alternate "unconventional" explanation for UAP sightings and to hypothesize what they might mean, and "the possibility that UAP may involve forms of non-human intelligence (NHI) that are already present in Earth's environment in some sense" that exist "alongside us in distinct stealth". The paper reads: "The author became increasingly aware of the depth of evidence and theory that also tentatively supports another ultraterrestrial explanation: the "cryptoterrestrial" hypothesis (CTH) – our focus here – which holds that UAP may reflect activities of NHIs concealed here on Earth (e.g., underground) and its environs."

Key senators believe the Pentagon's UFO office is lying
2024-06-11, The Hill
https://thehill.com/opinion/congress-blog/4712445-key-senators-believe-the-pe...

Key members of Congress delivered an astounding rebuke to the Pentagon's UFO analysis office last week, doubling down on whistleblower allegations of secret U.S government UFO programs. In March, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), the Department of Defense's UFO analysis program, released a 63-page report categorically denying the existence of such activities. But congressional legislation formally introduced last week represents a remarkable rebuke of AARO's emphatic denials. Congressional displeasure with AARO should come as no surprise. The office's landmark report shooting down allegations of unreported UFO programs is riddled with basic factual errors, stunning omissions and a laundry list of historical distortions. Notably, the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 would cut off funding for "any activity involving [UFOs] protected under any form of special access or restricted access limitations" that has not been reported to Congress, as required by law. In other words, despite AARO's sweeping denials of secret, unreported UFO activities, the Senate Intelligence Committee believes that such programs do indeed exist. The legislation released last week also requires the Government Accountability Office to conduct a review of AARO. This formal review by Congress's in-house investigative agency is a stark demonstration of the Senate Intelligence Committee's lack of confidence in AARO. Key senators ... believe that the Pentagon's UFO office is either not being truthful with the American public or is not executing its mission effectively.

The haunting connection between UFOs and America's nuclear weapons is laid bare in fascinating new study which concludes: They're trying to stop us from annihilating ourselves
2024-06-08, Daily Mail (One of the UK's Popular Newspapers)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-13502357/The-haunting-connect...

Since the United States detonated its first atomic bomb at the Trinity test site in 1945, dozens of accounts of UFOs have been logged by military witnesses and government scientists working with America's sensitive nuclear arsenal. Now a new, decades-long study has analyzed over 500 of the best supported UFO cases from the heights of the Cold War and hauntingly concluded: 'This intelligence understands atomics, and they understand atomic weaponry.' UFO reports over America's nuclear arsenal appeared to shift from sites where the bombs were made to missile silos and US air bases as the Cold War arms race grew. That's one of the key findings from the new work, a series of three studies led by a retired US Air Force staff sergeant, Larry Hancock, and a data analyst affiliate with Harvard's UFO-hunting Galileo Project, Ian Porritt. Their qualified, but haunting conclusion: Data from this three decade-long period lends credence to the idea that extraterrestrials, or some other intelligence, has methodically surveilled America's rise to a nuclear power. 'This intelligence understands the developmental cycle. They have some contextual knowledge of what they're looking at and what they're looking for,' Hancock [said]. Among the hundreds of cases included in their analysis was the infamous March 16, 1967 Malmstrom case in which Air Force witnesses reported that ten nuclear missiles were switched off by a UFO, confirmed by a US Strategic Air Command report.

UFO Disclosure Deadline set for October 2024 as US Government prepares to unveil alien secrets
2024-06-05, MSN News/Irish Star
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/ufo-disclosure-deadline-set-for-oct...

A prominent lawyer representing leading UFO whistleblowers has made a startling revelation: the US government is set to unveil its alien secrets by October 18, 2024. Daniel Sheehan, a vocal advocate for disclosing the Pentagon's encounters with extraterrestrials, disclosed this information on the Freedom Pact podcast. Sheehan, who has been advocating for "disclosure" for several years, claims that a 64-page document signed by a bipartisan group of senators was condensed into a shorter bill containing a crucial deadline for disclosure. He claims the bill, passed into law on December 22, 2023, initiated a 300-day countdown. He [said], "The law has now mandated that all six of our United States military services, all 18 of our United States intelligence agencies, all 32 of our United States defense department agencies are all ordered to gather together every single piece of information they have acquired pertaining to the UFO phenomenon and non-human intelligence that is understood to be responsible for it. They are to gather that all together and have it available in a digitized and retrievable form by October 18 of 2024. The bill is said to include any UFO data over 25 years old that was previously classified. This would encompass some of the most renowned encounters, such as the Roswell Incident, the Phoenix Lights, and perhaps the most persuasive sighting, the lesser-known 1957 RB-47 encounter.

Aliens are interacting with humans: Ret. Army Col.
2024-05-31, NewsNation
https://www.newsnationnow.com/space/ufo/aliens-interacting-humans/

Retired Army Col. Karl Nell claims nonhuman intelligence not only exists and has been to Earth but has been actively interacting with humanity. Nell has a long career with the Army, has worked for aerospace companies and was the former director of the UAP Task Force, which investigated anomalous phenomena for the Pentagon. He isn't the only senior figure to have come forward, with other senior figures like former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Christopher Mellon and retired Navy Admiral Tim Gallaudet also making many of the same points Nell did. Interest in UFOs and extraterrestrials has spiked since former intelligence officer David Grusch came forward with claims the Pentagon is operating a secret UFO retrieval program. Grusch said he had heard credible stories of the program from officials he spoke to during his time on the UAP Task Force. He said that not only is the program being kept secret from the American public, it is also being concealed from Congress. A bipartisan UFO Caucus has also formed in Congress, with lawmakers hearing several classified briefings. Many, including de facto caucus leader Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., have been skeptical of the information offered in those briefings. Burchett has repeatedly suggested the government is purposefully siloing information and relying on private contractors to prevent Congress from getting the full picture of what is going on.

The Search For Alien Technology May Have Actually Found Something
2024-05-21, The Debrief
https://thedebrief.org/the-search-for-alien-technology-may-have-actually-foun...

Astronomers scanning distant star systems for signs of alien technology say they have found 60 candidates, including seven M-dwarf stars giving off unexpectedly high infrared heat signatures, which may be surrounded by orbiting extraterrestrial power plants known as Dyson Spheres (DSs). First proposed by theoretical physicist Freeman Dyson back in 1960, confirmation of these aptly named devices would not only represent the first verifiable signs of life beyond Earth but would likely indicate a species that is more technologically advanced than humans. Since humanity's most powerful telescopes cannot image objects orbiting distant stars directly, researchers ... knew they would have to analyze light spectrum data emitted by millions of stars across the galaxy to search for signs of alien technology. In the case of Dyson Spheres, the team would need to look for an ‘unnatural' imbalance between the visible light and the infrared light emitted by a distant star. As proposed by Dyson, the more technologically advanced a species becomes, the more energy it needs. If they become advanced enough, a species could, in theory, surround an entire star with a "sphere" designed to capture all of its emitted energy. The sphere would radiate an excess of heat energy in the infrared spectrum as it captures the star's radiated energy and then releases it into space. In their published study [they explain:] "Dyson spheres, megastructures that could be constructed by advanced civilizations to harness the radiation energy of their host stars, represent a potential technosignature that, in principle, may be hiding in public data already collected as part of large astronomical surveys." Dubbed Project Hephaistos (named for the armorer of the Greek Gods), the effort [examined] data from over one hundred million stars. As hoped, the effort ... not only found 60 stars that had the right light ratios, but seven of these were particularly tantalizing, with IR heat signatures that lacked any other good explanation.

Top senators believe the US secretly recovered UFOs
2024-05-09, The Hill
https://thehill.com/opinion/technology/4646417-top-senators-believe-the-us-se...

Has the U.S. government secretly retrieved exotic craft of "non-human" origin? Newly declassified documents, along with extraordinary legislation, illustrate how two successive Democratic Senate majority leaders appear to have believed so. Notably, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the late Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) were not alone in their focus on UFOs. [They] received critical support and encouragement from a bipartisan group of high-profile senators over the years, including former fighter pilot and famed astronaut John Glenn (D-Ohio); Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), who observed a UFO as a World War II pilot; Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), then-chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense; 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.); Senate Intelligence Vice Chairman Marco Rubio (R-Fla.); Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.). Recently, Schumer and a bipartisan group of five other senators introduced extraordinary legislation alleging the existence of surreptitious "legacy programs" that retrieve and seek to reverse-engineer UFOs of "non-human" origin. On the Senate floor, Schumer said the government "has gathered a great deal of information about [UFOs] over many decades but has refused to share it with the American people." Critically, according to Schumer, "multiple credible sources" have alleged that elements of the U.S. government have withheld UFO-related information from Congress illegally.

The shocking history of UFOs and nuclear weapons

Interactions between UFOs and ultra-sensitive U.S. nuclear assets date back nearly eight decades. New Mexico ... is the site of a remarkable number of baffling, unsolved UFO incidents. In late 1948, for example, dozens of pilots, defense personnel and scientists associated with the famed Los Alamos and Sandia nuclear weapons programs began seeing mysterious "green fireballs" in the sky. Such objects were frequently observed flying on a perfectly horizontal trajectory, often moving directly toward nearby aircraft. In 1979, the New York Times and the Washington Post had reported on a series of alarming incidents at key nuclear weapons facilities in the United States. The incidents involved "unknown entities and brightly lighted, fast-moving vehicles that hovered over nuclear weapons storage areas and evaded all pursuit efforts." The unnerving events have notable parallels to allegations by former Air Force missile officers, that UFOs had rendered nuclear weapons inoperable at Minot Air Force Base in 1966 and Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967. Astronomer J. Allen Hynek, the Air Force's long-time scientific consultant on UFOs, described how an unknown object high above Minot's nuclear silos interfered with a missile command station's communications equipment in August 1966. A local Minot, N.D., newspaper reported the extraordinary incident.

Former US Navy admiral leads search for underwater alien USOs

Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) have caused so much concern in recent years that even Nasa launched a lengthy probe to find out what they were. Now some experts believe the hunt should move from the skies to the sea. The former head of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is launching a probe into unidentified submersible objects (USOs) and, in particular, a strange anomaly seen on the seabed off the coast of California. Timothy Gallaudet, a former rear admiral in the US Navy, has spent the past 18 months interviewing dozens of sailors, submariners, military personnel and members of the US Coastguard, all who say they have seen unidentified craft in the water. One incident was filmed by the USS Omaha off the coast of San Diego in southern California in 2019, when a dark-shaped object was seen moving quickly before splashing down into the water. In the renowned Tic Tac incident in 2004, US Navy pilots described an oblong craft shaped like the sweet hovering just above the water off the California coast. Sonar has revealed an unusual trench on the seafloor as if an object has crashed into a ridge and then skidded to a halt. Mr Gallaudet believes that evidence for USOs may be present in the US Navy's acoustic data, but it is currently classified. This week Mr Gallaudet launched a report into the phenomenon alongside the Sol Foundation, a group of academics, military and government officials committed to researching UFOs.
